Magnetometer response to glancing CME

Post by Carbon60 »

A glancing CME struck on April 21st at around16:30 GMT and the effects have been rumbling on over the last couple of days, sparking geomagnetic activity and beautiful aurora, even to lower regions.

Here's my magnetometer response....

There's more activity to come as a fast flowing solar wind stream is expected to arrive later today/tomorrow from a returning and persistent large coronal hole.

Thanks for looking.

Many thanks Carl, Mark and Alexandra. Things seem to be calming down again for the moment.
