Some cutting edge images - spectroheliograph - Phil Rousselle
Phil continues to put the boundaries....some of his latest images from his spectroheliograph show the real potential of this instrument!!
Well done Phil

These are just brilliant, Phil!
Do these images all derive from a single (time-varying) spectrum?
Cheers.
Peter.

hello Peter,
Yes these images are made with a linear array. A computer records a thin spectral band (about 0.2A) every 140ms (for exemple) while the image of the Sun drift on the spectro slit
The recorded lines are displayed side by side on the screen and finally give a whole disk of the Sun in the selected wavelength

Thanks, Phil.
Your work is definitely inspiring me to begin a spectroheliograph project!
Cheers.
