Magnetometer Record for October 2013

Post by Carbon60 »

In contrast to September's geomagnetic record, happily, there's more to report for October as a result of an upswing in solar activity. As can be seen in the chart, Earth's magnetosphere was buffeted by several CME's during the month and consequently there were reports of some excellent auroral displays around the poles. Thanks for looking.

Brilliant stuff Stu! I have some good aurora data from Iceland this week, will get it all put together and lets see if we can combine some sounds with it ;)

Many thanks Walter. I appreciate your support.

Mark, excellent news. When you have the sequences on video, I'll prepare the audio track(s). I just need the start and end times (and dates) for each sequence so that I can extract the hi-res data from my files and then convert them to MIDI. To make it easier, please convert the time/date into UT.

Should work out fine if all goes to plan. :)

Cheers

Stu.

Many thanks Alexandra.

It should make for an interesting collaboration, with Mark's time-lapse photography.

Cheers

Stu.
