Whole disk or nearly, with my Daystar Quantum 0.6A

Post by dellecavet »

Many owners of this filters know how difficult it is to capture the entire Sun, they are killers for high resolution but you are always forced to buy an additional telescope to satisfy the view of the entire sun.
Today, I decided to do some tests with a TEC 140mm 980mm/f, maybe fortunate to have the right pieces around in my observatory, the seeing was not good, it was late afternoon and I have to finalize with the right distance from a reducer to another, but however, looks OK, Or ?

Hi Walter,

i sequence are, Barlow 2x Televue, Daystar 0.6A, Antare f/6,3 Reducer, Baader 2inch for SCT, 1,5 inch of 2" tube, WO 0,8 tipe II Reducer/flatner, 1,5 inch of T2 and Lumenera 2-2.

The WO flatner/reducer is the Key, at that distance from the first reducer, gave me the desired correction, I tried the first with other reducer in place, with a very bad result

Hi Tony

thank you very much. I just happen to have a 0,8 WO reducer/flattener type II which I use for my LUNT 100 for full disk shots. It's about time to think the distances over again

hello guys

Mamma mia how sensitive the image degradation is, to any changes in millimeters of the optical train, I guess I have to glue it all together to not lose the current state :D :D

here are a series of images, I must say, I'm more and more 'satisfying, maybe its not perfect but the tuning is still in progress.

** Please, do not zoom in, the seeing here are horrible
