Hi Theo

interesting, that mod should increase the contrast. Mine is fully coated up to the edge. The sides it self I have to check

It is a normal thing... The filters are placed in a special plate which covers a little the periphery of the filters, before treatment under high vacuum ...
I have the filter 1.25 " and also to 2" inches. Both of the filters are not treated up to the edge, however, in the model by two inches the locking ring covers perfectly the untreated part, while, in the model by 1.25 ", the locking ring of the filter is many thin and it shows a little untreated part.

Hi Antonello

......"Both of the filters are not treated up to the edge, however, in the model by two inches the locking ring covers perfectly the untreated part, while, in the model by 1.25 ", the locking ring of the filter is many thin and it shows a little untreated part."......

that is exactly the point

I did not write that this is right ... :-)
I have just written "it is normal": all production is so, not only your filter.
The problem can be solved only by Baader doing a little less thin the ring block in the filter holder ...
or placing a new and bigger stop ring ... as you did. :-)
