C-ERF / D-ERF?????

Post by Richard »

Hi all, managed to get a PST adapter on astroboot, they had vanished for a while, but there again now.
Anyway, been looking for a C-ERF of 80mm, but see they do a 75mm but seems that there discontinued, and there now a D-ERF...
I presume the Baader ones are the best one to get? and also see that to import one from Germany is actually about £40 cheaper than buing one in the UK (or does anybody know different?)
The idea is to use it on the ED80 to start with as it gives good results from the SM40 so be interesting to see what the PST mod would be like on it. (Also be nice to use the same scope for white light and Ha....)

Thanks in advance for any advise or supplier info....

Hello Richard. The 80mm scope should be fine with the SM40, but the PST mod works differently and needs a F10 native focal length or longer to achieve the full objective potential. :)

That would be an excellent choice, however for a similar outlay you could buy a Tal 100RS. Using the ERF as an internal unit you could benefit from the larger aperture.

The PST to 2" converter is a stock item, so should be available most of the time

Could always get a TAL100 to convert
