I have just purchased a front etalon sm 2 60 filter ,i also own a sm 2 60 with bf10.
can I buy an adaptor and use both the front etalon and bf10 directly on an st80,does the front etalon have a built in erf.
curiosity has got me wanting to see if the view would be any better using an 80mm refractor rather than the dedicated sm60.

I used a similar DS set-up on the ED80 using the original SM60 filters.
Both the SM60 filters are fitted with ERF.
You'll need a machined adaptor cell to fit the ST80 and also (need to check the current threads?) probably an adaptor ring between the TMax thread of the front filter and the front thread of the rear filter.

(But currently don't show Coronado adaptors???)

The DS results on the ED80 were much better than on the SM60 scope.

Re: st80 with solarmax 60 double stack front ealon
thanks for the info merlin, does the diameter stay at 60mm because of the filter diameter or 80mm for the st80?

Bert,
Instead of the 80/400 f5 you have with the ST80, you'll end up with a 60/400 f6.6 system.
