Baader 60mm f/4.1 Vario Finder SOLAR MOD

Since it is raining I was occupied with an interesting solar mod. The Baader 60mm f/4.1 Vario Finder is a high quality piece of equipment.

Below you will find a few images of an interesting mod for solar visual observation (I will use it as a finder for my other solar scopes).

A Coronado SM40 + BF10 and a Thousand Oaks black polymer solar can now be used with this great small scope.

Pedro, this is really interesting. I was thinking of how to modify a finder into a solar instrument. So I bookmarked this page for future reference!

Interesting mod indeed. Can you elaborate on the adaptor to get the tmax unit onto the objective cell?

Thanks Mark

I used the finder plastic cover and a M49mm to M52mm photo adapter ring. The SM40 screws on this ring.

The black round part is from an old lens.
