Orion ED80 conversion

I did not have a solar scope but already had the 80mm refractor, so I had an adaptor objective cap for my ED80 machined to accept an SM40 filter and put the BF10 on the other end. The cap press fits onto the dew shield. It looks like this

Yes, the SM40 (or the SM60) is a good match for the ED80.

Only stardust in the wind, some fine and some less fine scopes, filters and adapters as well. Switzerland 47 N, 9 E, in the heart of EUROPE :)

from 7 am - 7 pm http://www.nanosys.ch

from 7.01 pm - 6.59 am http://www.wastronomiko.com some times vice versa ;)
