My observation on Quark with Lunt BF600 diagonal

Post by soulvagabond »

I have tried using the Lunt's BF600 diagonal on my 80mm f/7.5 refractor, Today.
Unscrewed the Quark's bf filter from the barlow module, not to have 2 bf filters in row.
Good news, the contrast of the chromosphere has improved a lot, much closer image to DS.
Bad news, the image is a lot darker. The prominences became hard to observe.
May try it next on my 100mm refractor, to see if extra aperture will help with the brightness.
Thanks

Yup, the image always gets darker when double stacking.

It's much darker, compared to DS-ing my Lunt50 scope with the Quark (using a celestron diagonal, instead of Lunt), using the same magnification.
