X-truder 2.0 -Baader Planetarium Quadrant!

Post by TheSkyBurner » Mon Oct 29, 2018 9:20 am

I was so pleased with the results from my first x-truder project that i decided to update it to 2.0. Here is a sneak peak of my new design .

Everything is now 20/20 spring loaded optical rails. Each piece can now slide to any position and be locked in place. Alignment is no longer required, the parts are now direct to fit square.

In a couple days i will attach four baader planetarium ir/uv cut clicklock mirrors, and the dovetail. I would eventually like to replace the gso focuser with a Baader Planetarium steel-track with motorization.

This is an f/35 parallel plane, established by a dual doublet output with a prime image length of 3500mm. A third doublet will be attached, to achieve final image focus.

The objective is a fluorite 100mm. Currently unfiltered, but the Baader Planetarium click-lock K-erf nose-pieces allow me to install two 2" filters each.
