Lunt60PT mod, anyone had success? - now with picture from THE SCOPE :)

Post by GaborKiss »

Hi forumers :)

I went today to my friend, he made a very exceptional modification, from two scopes he put together a modded Lunt scope with 120mm aperture using two Lunt50 filters, so double-stacked. He made tremendous images with it, just look at this 6 panels attached :)

He asked me to ask you if its possible to make from Lunt60PT scope a modification simply "put it" into a bigger aperture scope, also idea what can be done to DS it?

Thanks,
Gabor

My friends picture with the modified DS Lunt scope.

Here is the telescope:

Great result!
You should post an image of his DS mod.
Re the Lunt 60 mod, there's a thread on it, and Viljo has already published his early results.

The simplest appears to be replacing the front optics with an f8 scope, but things are still work in progress on this forum. There is another dosing with folded optics, nOt as compact.

Cheers

I will ask a picture, this is a folded scope also, from a Skywatcher 120/900 combined with 2 diagonals at the end and on the top of the scope a Zeiss 50/540 in front the two Lunt50 filters :) Not that compact :P So thats why we are thinking how to give 100-130mm aperture to Lunt60PT but in DS mode :)

I think there's something similar on the Istar site.

Very cool! I've been struggling to get the right spacings for all this when I tried it - then again i've been struggling to even see the sun of late...
