Has anyone had recent contact with Beat Kolher AOK Swiss?

Post by uplooker »

Hi,
Has anyone had recent contact with Beat Kolher AOK Swiss? MjrTom did say in another post that he was ill. I have e-mailed a couple of times trying to purchase the threaded collars that attach either side of the Coronado PST etalon but have not heard anything.

Today I took delivery of a Baader 75mm D-ERF and a lens mount that I am going to use to interanlly mount the ERF to a TAL 100RS. I am aware some people on here are not keen on internally mounting the ERF but others on here have convinced me - no different than what happens when using a scope with a Herschel wedge, where all the solar energy enters the tube.

The lens mount is the one shown in the link:

http://www.thorlabs.com/thorProduct.cfm ... mber=LMR75

The only concern i had was that the D-ERF would actually fit into the mount. I e-mailed Teleskop Service who measured the D-ERF and said the Dia. was 75.00mm. Thor labs said the internal dia. was 75mm -0.0 +0.05. Those are pretty close tolerances! Thankfully they were both right, as the D-ERF did fit! Just a matter of keeping the two items parallel to each other.

Really keen to progress with this mod, just missing these components and ............... cutting the tube

Hi Ian,

Nope still not heard back from him.
Sounds like the mod is coming along nicely.

I have managed to pick up a nosepiece off astro buy & sell and are using an SCT - 2" adapter for the rear of the etalon.
Just need to cut the tube and also find a 10mm blocking filter and I shall be completed.

I hope he does not mind me saying but he has broken his collarbone so it could be a while before he has recuperated

Hi,
Beat Kohler @ AOK Swiss replied to my e-mails yesterday. Thankfully, I now have the 2 off etalon adaptors on order.

Beat is a great guy. He just sold me a 2" PST nose for my modification. Because I live in México he took great care for my transaction, choosing the best shipping method.
