ERF 'Pinholes'

Hi all...

I've notices a pair of small 'pinholes' in one of my ERF's...I need to check them closer, but I do not believe these are dirt on either surface. They appear to let unfiltered light through...not red like the rest of the ERF surface.

If the coating are truly off, what is the best approach? Place a dab of paint over the hole to prevent unfiltered light form coming through, ignore them (safety/contrast issue to me), or other thoughts?

I will get a better look at this unit later today...just trying to plan ahead.

sorry to hear that. A touch with a edding 3000 should help. I wonder more why the pinholes came up at all :?


Only stardust in the wind, some fine and some less fine scopes, filters and adapters as well. Switzerland 47 N, 9 E, in the heart of EUROPE :)

Out of focus pinholes do not affect safety but do degrade contrast.

Hmmmm
Are we talking about Baader C/D-ERF's or the Lunt or Coronado?
(I've never seen any ERF pin holes before - just interested.....)
