Hello
I’m from Poland and I’m really keen on solar max.
unfortunately my solar block put apart due wrong use/there are some pictures in attachment/ so my question is: could you kindly help me to put together all parts?
How is distance between lenses? And it’s possible to put all parts without special instruments?
Thanks in advance for any tips
Sincerely
Jacek

Re: Coronado Solarmax 40
If a drop of distilled water can be used to break the bond, I wonder if it would work in reverse?
A minute amount applied to wet the surface, then the 2 halves positioned back exactly where they were.
Then allow the thing to dry in a warm dust free location. Maybe speed up the drying with a hair dryer/heat gun.
Possibly?

Hi Swisswalter,
Could you explain all process concerining how to put together etalon, please?
I will try but without tips never get right way.
The main problem is to know proper distance between lenses and put lenses in correct way, one by one.
Is any solar-company around E.U. to solve this problem?
Even if you put all pieces together in correct way you never know for sure if it's enoght or not,we neeed a kind of check point to be sure for 100%.

Hi Jacek
have you read my Story about recontacting a LUNT Etalon. See here or on my Homepage. I recommend to send it in and get a Quote about the costs.

Jacek,
The ERF (red filter is at the front) - the surface of the etalon with the centre black circle is towards the rear.
The little dabs of RTV at the edges of the etalon hold it in place and centralise the assembly.
The BIGGEST problem is re-contacting the etalon plates.
Your spacers look different to the ones I'm working with. These must be cleaned with 100% pure acetone in a dust free environment. The faces are then pressed together until faint Newton Rings can be seen on each pad.
I've tried three times now with George's SM40 - but no success as yet.
Check out the thread on Re-contacting etalons..
