Has anyone figured out a way to use the PST at night. I thought about unscrewing the barrel of the scope and screwing in another barrel that has a lens up front. The bottom piece of the eyepiece holder without the ERF could be used as the eyepiece holder. Thanks.

Well, you's still be left with the blocking filter (absorbing a considerable amount of the visible spectrum) and the pentaprism with its limited focusing capability and possible astigmatism issue.
Just accept the PST for what it is.
If you want / need a highly portable scope for night-time use a birding / target spotting scope at a small fraction of the cost of a PST will do very well. Same will do nicely for a quick "white light" view of the Sun when furnished with a Baader solar film filter over the objective.

Not sure why you would
That's what 7nm Ha filters and regular scopes are for...
