SolarMaxII 150mm Mod
Hi! I do not know much English, I write through the Google translator, sorry if something is not clear. 2 years ago, I became the owner of Coronado SM-2 and since then thinking about how to make it better.
Lens Coronado 60mm 1 / 6.6, I have found the right characteristics telescope, Explore Scientific 152mm f / 6.5. To protect etalon, I bought ERF filter 135mm, which set inside the pipe. A little work with metal and telescope started working.

Re: SolarMaxII 150mm Mod
That is working real nice Aleksey!
I am considering a similar project but instead would be using a ES AR127/F6.5. From what I can see of Aleksey's mod he fitted a properly size ERF at the objective and then scavenged a 60mm SM2 etalon and BF for coupling at the tail piece flange. Is there anything else that I may be overlooking?
In my case I hope to use a 2" Moonlite focuser and flange at the tailpiece but at this point am not sure whether I will end up obtaining a PST or SM-2 depending on availability.
You folks are doing some interesting work and results with these mods and I have enjoyed spending this weekend going through these threads.
Your counsel appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
