With no possibility of decent higher res imaging (although I tried), I settled on a full disk image taken with an LS80 at 1120mm
I'm continuing efforts to try and find the best double stacking arrangement with my c9.25. So far, I found the best combination that provides decent image brightness is to attach a 2X Powermate or 3X Baader telecentric + PST etalon (without its outer lenses) + Quark Combo Chromosphere to provide about 4600/6900mm mm. The contrast is still less than I get with my LS152 + Quark Chromosphere. The seeing however has not allowed good high res views.

Nice Lou!
I'm interested to see what an SCT with a PST etalon & quark can produce (even with a 0.5x focal reducer)!
Very best,

Very nice full disk, Lou. It is shame that seeing prevents good results in High Res.

See my H-a image in this thread. It was taken with 11" SCT, Quark and PST etalon + 0,6x reducer.

Interesting, thank you! I've wondered how the skirt on the curve would be with a PST etalon & quark combined.Valery wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:32 pm Very nice full disk, Lou. It is shame that seeing prevents good results in High Res.

Re: The sun on Sept 23
Used on its own with the c9.25(at 4600 mm), my Quark Combo produces a fairly even but very flat (weak contrast) image. When I use either one of the 2 PST etalons I have on its own, I find the image to be much less even and very sensitive to slight amounts of tilt. Combining the Quark Combo and either PST produces regions on the image that are more contrasty but not wide enough to use a full frame. So, a smaller ROI is required. After trying various combinations of 3 etalons that I have, I conclude that the weak link (apart from the seeing) in my setup is the etalon. The ERFs work as required as do the scope and camera. So for now, I'll work with what I have.
