Maybe the wrong place

Post by denababy »

Hi all, I’m not sure this is the right place, please forgive me. My poor old legs just will not stand lifting and carrying the battery I have which is an 84ah leisure deep recycle type, what I am looking for is maybe a lithium battery (much lighter) but which one? I need to connect my Quark, so it must have a USB port as well as a cigarette type connection for my scope. Can anyone advise please.

Hi,
If you need a battery only for the Quark and your mount, check out the lithium polymer batteries for smarphone. Just an example amount many others :

There are also those quick car jump power sources that hold enough juice to jump start a car. Way more than needed for a Quark, but if you're driving a tracking mount, a camera with cooler, a computer and perhaps a convenience item here or there, they'll cover all that and more. Small and light, they hold about 10-15 amp-hours, and cost around 50 bucks

This is fantastic and has given me plenty to investigate and think about. Thank you all.

Mark I think I will buy the battery you suggest but I would like to know if I need any other cables than those that come with the battery. My scopes that I will power are an eq3-2 and an AVX as well as my Quark. Can you advise me please?
