24Nov18, November is the wettest month for us in Singapore. It has been raining almost every day. Today we had bright sunshine but the Sun was covered by fast moving clouds throughout day. I was glad to have the equipment out and some images after patient waiting. However the seeing condition was poor and the passing clouds degraded the images.
A new flaring sunspot was spotted near the middle of the solar disk in white light,(solar surface) Calcium-K (solar lower atmosphere) and H-Alpha (Upper atmosphere) wavelengths.
Setup for WL imaging - Megrez 90 with a Thousand Oaks white light filter + Point Grey Grasshopper 3 camera
Setup for CAK imaging - Megrez 90 with Lunt CAK diagonal + Point Grey Grasshopper 3 camera
Setup for HA imaging - Borg 76 refractor + Solarscope 50mm DS etalons + Point Grey Grasshopper 3 camera

Thanks Eric, Franco, Apollo and Mark for your kind words.
I could have done more solar work even though the weather and happenings in the family have made it a great challenge in the later part of this year.
Now that I have started my solar work, I will also be more active in this forum too.

Re: 24Nov18 - New Sunspot in Tri-band
Thanks Alexandra.
We (my wife Mei and father-in-law) are taking a break in Bangkok, Thailand. The skies here are also very cloudy
I brought the old faithful work horse
I only had time to setup one solarscope 50mm single etalon and recorded 700 frames before clouds covered the whole sky. This is image from 140 frames.
Exploring Bangkok next
