Sunday 9th December 2018
Sunday was forecast for a completely sunny morning but I quickly found this not to be the case as the special 'solar cloud' was making a frustrating appearance. No matter how clear blue the sky can be a line of horizontal cloud was permanently moving over the Sun. So I spent 1 and half hours waiting for 10-30 second gaps to grab a quick solar disc with the PSTs from the bedroom window around midday. The Sun is only 12 degrees above the horizon at midday now. It was interesting to watch the surging from the active region on the limb in the west over time. It was most enjoyable and the first time I have had Sun at the weekend and been able to image since 28th October.
All were taken with H alpha and CaK PSTs and DMK41 camera.

Great images Alexandra, I guess the sun was very low. I sometimes have horizontal clouds moving very slowly as well, it can be very frustrating...

Re: Sunday 9th December 2018
Nice images, Alexandra. That same ‘solar cloud’ persisted from my vantage point; no breaks. Most of the remaining sky was clear, except for the heavy haze over and around the Sun. No chance of imaging. So frustrating.

Alexandra:
I had also a solar cloud that lasted all Sunday.
Very nice images in spite of the weather conditions.
Best regards,
Eric.

Dear Alexandra,
Nice set of FDs. It is raining or cloudy most of the time over here. Wish to have some clear moments.
