December 29th sun and various proms
Hello everybody: I was out this morning with the Solarmax 90 DS for a quick session, as this seems to be the last day of good weather this year around here. While the SSM was suggesting good seeing at lower altitude, the Jetstream was definitely very unfriendly. I am the red dot on the map. The sun was showing multiple prominences, but the largest one (on the Western limb) was very faint. I am also posting other proms from the past I reprocessed during this period of low activity of the sun. My favorite is the tall plume prominence I was lucky to image on February 20, 2017.
I wish everybody a Happy New Year and happy imaging in 2019, with clear skies and lots of fun gear to shoot with !

Re: December 29th sun and various proms
Nice prom shots, Franco. I can't wait to get the winter behind us for better conditions. It has been weeks since I last got a chance to image anything because of the weather and the low Sun.

Hi Franco...
Your full disk images came out well, and the proms are nicely detailed. Excellent work!!!
I didn't look at the Jetstream map yesterday but I see why I had such poor seeing too...I'm sitting well inside the northern boundary of the same system Hopefully the weather improves and we get some better, more stable skies for observing.

Re: December 29th sun and various proms
These are fantastic, there really are some amazing proms at the moment, always a good target for photos Your SSM readings are not bad considering, mostly around 1-1.5 which is better than what I could get, pity about the jetstream as we can't do anything with that
