Quark f52 first attempt 9/21

Post by Starry Jack »

I am experimenting with masking my 152mm to 95mm and like the results in many cases. This morning I tried masked and unmasked with a 2x barlow bringing the image below to about f52 for the 152mm and f84 for the 95mm (masked). On my monitor I was thrilled every time the clarity "popped" into crispness...even at f84 when masked at 95mm I had a blast watching the sun very up close.

In post processing I had better results with the 152mm unmasked (f52).

Nice images, Jack. It’s always a balancing act between aperture, focal ratio, pixel size and seeing to obtain optimal results.
