Geomagnetic Activity 19th March

Post by Carbon60 » Thu Mar 19, 2020 5:07 pm

Hi everyone,

You might be interested to know that the solar wind, blowing from a coronal hole in the Sun's atmosphere, arrived in the early hours of March 19th, as detected on my magnetometer here in the UK. This was preceded almost 6 hours earlier by gentler geomagnetic unrest and almost 24 hours earlier with further unrest after the solar wind impacted Earth's magnetic field making it ring like a bell. This can be seen as oscillations in the magnetometer record as indicated.
