The Sun - 31st May 2020

Post by David_The_Bears_Fan »

Early start this morning and out before 8am. Seeing was horrible initially but seemed to settle as time went on. Good to see some (admittedly small) spots on the Sun in white light today. Lots going on in Ca-K still as well so a busy session.

First up, Ca-K full disks

Very nice results! I especially like the last image - AR in CaK at high res.

Hi David,

You have a nice collection of CAK images. What was the setup for the last image?

Skywatcher Evostar 120 stopped down to 100mm, Lunt B1200 diagonal, Revelation 2.5x barlow, ZWO ASI178MM set with ROI @ 2504x2080. 1000 frames captured in 8-bit mono @ 60 frames per second. And lots of patience waiting for a break in the seeing to try and get a good capture :D
