June 2nd 2020 ARs + Prom

Post by Astrophil »

Hi All,

Rain today gave me time to process images taken on June 2. Although we have seen some spectacular images taken on June 2nd posted here, I felt these were interesting enough to present. All were taken using the 6" Mak with and without a focal reducer.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for sharing these images with us. They are excellent.

It seems that the best results may be achieved with a reducer of smaller reducing power.

Valery, that's a good idea. I'm using a 1.25" generic 0.5x reducer close to the camera resulting in less reduction but possibly not optimal for this system. The system is a f15 Mak with a 2x telecentric. Any suggestions as to a better reducer would be appreciated.

Alexandra, I am located in sunny Florida where it's forecasted to rain for a week or more.

Phil
