Sunday afternoon gap 9th August 2020
After waiting all weekend for some sunshine I finally had a gap for 30 minutes Sunday afternoon. Seeing was absolutely dire but I persisted and went for it and manged just a 10 minute timelapse in the blue wing of H-alpha from 13:21-13:31 UTC. I didn't see any Ellerman bombs, I think the seeing was too bad for small scale targets but there is a lot of fast moving material moving outwards from the Sun. That animation is awesome. Look at those spicules dance! And it looks like the plasma is really flowing in that lower filament. A reconnection event maybe?

Re: Sunday afternoon gap 9th August 2020
Love the animation and you recorded some great detail in the AR and the prom. The seeing has been vile here for the last week but I was getting the odd few seconds of calm as the clouds passed on Saturday. I spent some time working on that prom but got nothing I was happy with. Glad you got your dose of Solartherapy!

Mother Nature is paying you back for all those clear days you got! Seriously, I hope the storm doesn’t do you any damage.rsfoto wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 6:39 pm Hi Alexandra,

Great animation and images, Alexandra ! The close up of the AR is stunning, processing is so good. Glad you could beat the odds and the bad seeing...

Nicely done, Alexandra. The blue wing animation really displays very nicely how the material flows under the influence of local magnetic fields.

Nice looking shots Alexandra! I've been too busy lately to get the scope out, and when have had time the weather has been trash.
