January 8th in Ha

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

A short session on Friday and was able to get a full disk image as well as a few closeups of the filaments and one larger prom. Seeing continued to be poor, limiting the quality of the proms and making the mosaics a little uneven.

The full disk was imaged through the Ls80T/LS75FHa/B1800Ha solar scope with the ASI174MM camera:

Disk activity was limited to the filaments again, and were imaged with the modded iStar 150mm OTA/Double Stacked DSII units/B1800Ha and a 3x focal extender and ASI174MM. The large filament on the SE quadrant was continuing to show, as well as another on the NW limb, and a patch of faculae on the SW limb:

The final image is the prom on the SE limb...suffering from the poor seeing and long exposures:

Overall a decent session...hoping that we get some activity back soon ;)

Nicely done, Brian. Good images. More activity certainly would be welcome.
