Filter adapter check

Post by Montana »

Hi guys,

Please could I check with you before I purchase. I really wanted to work this out myself but I wanted to check I have got this right.

I would like to insert my Baader 35nm Halpha filter in between my TZ3 and SolarSpectrum. The Solarspecttrum has a female T2 thread (the thread goes inside the instrument). The TZ3 has a male T2 thread (on the outside). Therefore the Baader filter has a male M48 screwthread which needs to fit into a female T2. therefore would this be the correct adapter

on the other side, I need a male M48 to fit in the female M48 of the filter, and a female T2 to fit on the male T2 of the TZ3, so is this the correct adapter

If I have this right this is a major astronomical achievement for me. Fingers crossed.

Alexandra

Hiya Alexandra,

Why do you want the filter between the SS and the TZ3? That will mean the weight of the SS and camera etc is supported by the weedy threads on the filter alone. Why don't you mount the filter on the nose of the TZ3?

Mark

Those adapters should work for what you are suggesting.
