Missing the green little monsters

Post by swisswalter »

Hi Stephen

since about 2 or four days, the little green monsters disapear, although the posts have not been read by me. By hazard I then find a post, two or more days old, that I have not answered to.

Hi Stephen

I'm still fighting with the little green monsters. As soon as I log out, the posts that I have not read are no more marked with the green beasts

Hi Mark, Hi Alexandra

thank you very much for your feed back. That is not good at all. I thought I'm the only one with that problem and that is the reason why Stephen never gave an answer to my post. Maybe he is reading our chat ;-) and has an solution :hamster:

yes, I keep up with it. Could I suggest that you go to the "recent posts" page every time you log in and just read all of them instead? This is supposed to keep track of the posts that have been posted since you last logged in. I cannot do anything from my end to refresh the green indicators as this is very simple software, either it works or it doesn't work.

Most of the problems in here work themselves out as people just delete their temp internet files or clear their caches. There just isnt uch n this end that I can do when it comes to database entries or post counts.

This is what I get when I log in each time using Apple Safari browser...

are you speaking of the green text indicators that denote unread posts in each topic? I DO NOT ever get them when I log in using Internet Explorer or Chrome. I dont know why.

I would love for someone to come in here and volunteer to upgrade us to some more advanced software but no one seems interested, even for a fee. My internet skills are good, but limited. I do not know how to convert our current posts and users to any other kind of BBS software so we use what we have.

Hi Stephen

thank you very much for that ligning fast answer.

Yes I refer to exactly that behavior of the Little green Monsters. How many threads will be showed when we go first to the recent post tab?

if you log in and log out routinely, the recent posts tab shows everything new since the last time you logged out.

Also, if you have posted, or subscribed, in the topic it subscribes you to that topic and you should be getting an email with every new post.
