Saturday Sun 8th April 2023 with animation

Post by Carbon60 »

A beautiful day and another opportunity to capture some rays across the spectrum. My usual setups and processing for FDs and close views, but this time with an animation sequence (for a change). A surge type prom looked to be a promising prospect for some activity and I didn't want to miss it.

CaK mosaic on my homebrew filter. 43 mm masked refractor at f10 plus 2.7x Barlow and Basler acA2440-75 um camera

Finally, the surge prom (rotated 90 deg clockwise for a better aspect):

Still frame.

...and the animation, comprising 46 frames (24 minutes real time).

That was it for today.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Great captures Stu, that surge prom animation is really impressive. I wonder if that faint eruption from active region is part of it too? I wonder where the other end is going...
