2024-03-20 Sun Ha FD Multiple Edits

Post by LLichter »

Hallo SolarChat Community.

I had time for a short imaging session Yesterday.
Did not have access to my 150AR/1200, which gave me the opportunity to practice my FD imaging with the Lunt 60. :)

Did not try a lot of FD imaging and editing until now so i tried 4 "styles".
Please tell me which one you girls and guys like the most and how i could improve them.
I personally like the BW Positive the most but i am sure i could do better with some more time to image and practice.

It was really hard to merge the images i took of the proms with the disk overexposed to the images of the surface.
Hope you have some tips for me. :)
I used Gimp but some PS workflows might work in Gimp too :)

Imaging setup:
LUNT LS60 SS -> BF10 -> ASI462MM

Editing:
AS4! -> imppg -> Gimp

Here come the images :band :band

Nice images, Dominik,

I prefer the non inverted images over the inverted ones, but that’s just me.
One comment I would make is that you might want to increase the size of the surface disk slightly prior to combining in order to cover up the white line around the limb.

Thanks Stu. I also prefer the postitives too.:)
That Tip of yours sounds great. I will try it tomorrow and post the results here.
The limb is really bodering me in these because it kind of makes the sun not look like a sphere as much.

Thanks again. :D

Here is one with the Surface disk scaled up by about 5 to 10 pixel.

I find it looks better :)

Thanks Stu
