Re: First attempt at deep sky with the SeeStar
Hi Alexandra...
Your deep sky first light images with the Seestar look good
Lots of good suggestions from those using the scope, so I'm sure that with some guidance and more practice your will be posting more in the near future.

Where we are the eclipse starts mid morning, so don't think the meridian flip will be an issue but I'll have to watch where the tripos legs are setup to avoid the camera hitting one

Good day everyone... I had clear skies most of Tuesday, so I started to do some imaging and made it through the full disk shots before the cloud rolled in. It only lasted 15-20 mins but I was pressed for time so I shut down the scope. All FD images were taken with the ASI1600MM camera. The fist imag...

Too bad to see the condition of the camera Rich.
Reach out to ZWO...they are usually good about repairs but may vary depending on the age of the camera. Worth a try, and if you get another camera you might have a backup if they help you out.

Hi James, yes you hit the nail on the head. Raw sap averages 2% sucrose out of the tree bu you need to remove enough water to get it to 66% sucrose to meet the 'offical' maple syrup standard. If you have it too dilute it doesn't store well and above 66% the sugar settles out of solution. the typical...
