Big thanks to Mark and all the speakers at Solarfest yesterday.
Good fun day and luckily the Sun shook off the cloud for a few minutes before we went home.

Re: Transit of Mercury events in Europe?

That sounds interesting folks. Myself and my wife are thinking of heading away for a long weekend in the Sun. We will look into the cost of flights to Madrid. Is this the planetarium? https://www.google.ie/maps/place/Planetario+Madrid/@40.3906358,-3.684856,16z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xfefb55219b43a6f7 ...

Re: 135mm D-ERF to C14

Mark, The diameter of the C14 OTA is 398mm. The size of the secondary obstruction is 115mm. As the aperture is 14inches = 355mm => max effective aperture of off-axis ERF = 120mm Rybak, Thanks for the images. I have a full-aperture aluminium cell for my 135mm D-EF to fit onto my TEC140. 135mm D-ERF to C14

Hi Folks,
I'd like to attach my 135mm D-ERF to my Celestron C14.
Anyone here tried this before?
Made your own adapter or got it professionally made?
Thanks,
Michael.

Transit of Mercury events in Europe?

Hi Folks,
It's been a while since I stopped by here.
I'm wondering if any clubs or members in the sunnier parts of Europe have events planned for the 9th May.
I wouldn't mind heading on a cheap flight in order to see it form a sunnier climate.
Thanks,
Michael.

Re: Quark Vs Solarscope

Nice review Alexandra.
They are two different animals with a different purpose.
FWIW, I have a Coronado 90mm filter and a Daystar 0.6A T-Scanner with 135mm D-ERF.
Different instruments entirely.
