Re: I have the setup in the photograph

That all looks set up correctly to me. Of course, as others have said there are no features of significance to view on the sun and you would never see granulation in the Sun’s chromosphere, only in the photosphere with white light. I’ve only used a quark a few times but to be honest I have never got...

Re: Which new scope

I have a little different take on that. I would say if you were going to be imaging the sun and CaK or H-alpha with the scope, there is no need for a triplet and in my experience a much less expensive doublet performs identically since there is only one wavelength of light to focus. Of course, if yo...

lol. This filter is being sold by Apolo Lasky who has been booted from this forum under 3 different user names for selling unsafe solar filters. No, it will not show prominemces. stay away. ATTENTION ALL USERS

It has been discovered that Apolo Lasky is back using the name ”TheSkyburner” this time. He has been banned several times from this forum for selling unsafe equipment and for illegally using the CBSAP brand in selling said equipment on eby and youtube. This guy is nuts and I would appreciate anyone ...

Re: CBSAP shutting down September 1st

I very much appreciate all of the kind words from my friends here. I have no intention of stopping the Solarchat forum. if something comes up with it we will deal with that later. It seems to be working good for now and like I said, it is paid for a few more years. Again, I am not planning on stoppi...

Re: New member here, PST woes.

Well, I’m sorry to hear that. I think every seasoned solar astronomer here has dropped and destroyed at least one scope. It looks like you already have access to the penta prism in the photo of the unscrewed blocking filter assembly. P.S. not to be the bearer of bad news but that is the most rusted ...

This is the last full day of fundraising and we are far from our goal to keep the program and this forum running through 2018.
