Re: First ISS solar transit 7/3/2022
Nice capture, Warren. I’ve done this only once, but I remember the thrill when everything came together and I got some clear frames. It was a close call, though, with quite a few clouds around threatening to block the view.

You got great results in a narrow observing window, Mark. No chance of anything useful here between the building work (dust risk) and cloudy conditions.

Very nice images, Simon. Your seeing conditions must have been pretty good given the spicules on the limb.

Re: G1 Geomagnetic Storm 1st-2nd July 2022
Great information. I have not made any advance with my detectors :( Hi Rainer, It’s a pity. The good news is that all the additional steelworks at home haven’t affected the detection capability of my sensor, so that bodes well for your location. The main thing is there shouldn’t be any extraneous v...

G1 Geomagnetic Storm 1st-2nd July 2022
A minor geomagnetic storm occurred overnight (UTC) which was detected on my back yard magnetometer operating here in the UK. Here are the data, shown as declination and rate of change in arbitrary units (uncalibrated). I use data from the Intermagnet network to scale accordingly. 20220702_Passing CM...

10/10 for persistence, James. Sometimes you just have to know when you’re being defeated by the conditions. We’ve all been there, I’m sure. I know I have!
