Had a glance at it yesterday 13, but didn't have the time to catch it today. It was bigger (1/5 of the sun) but weaker today, and better with the étalon de tuned (lower pressure). Lunt 100 with 18mm eyepiece, still between cirrus

Thank you Franco and Montana. Sketching in 10 to 20min is a lazy way for me to avoid setting up the equatorial mount/cam/computer, and still keeping an eye on the sun to get a good resolution ;) Cheers from Paris

Nice project!!! Given your low latitude, why not using an equatorial plateform combined with Dobson mount? It's easy to make from wood, Footprint is less, weight also, no vibration from the fork,....

As the gost doesn't turn with the DS module, did you try to test the influence of the BF filter orientations ? We tried several BF orientations on several scopes (Lunt100+BF3400, Lunt100+BF600, Front coronado+BF3000) and there was an optimal orientation for optimizing the resulting bandwidth.

Here are some interesting simulations optimizing the sub apertures diameters, and relative positions (the 4 subs is interesting) I will run the psf on them when clouds come back ;) I think DSobserver will have some stuff to test on his C1...

With the pattern simulated, central obstruction is (2-sqrt(2))/(2+sqrt(2))=17% (if my maths are correct), it would fit tight a newton ;) Sorry for Cats ;)
