Lovely stuff Brian.
I still have a scope made for deep sky work ( built in the days of film ).
Moved home to a site with rubbish light pollution and never used it.
Still wish I could make the effort to give it go.
More power to your elbow.
Best wishes,
David

Thank you Ivan. Here are a couple of photos of the scope that I used. Made out of old kit and an old but very nice mirror. I will put the scope on an old Equatorial Tracking Platform to give me a drive for longer captures soon. Best wishes, David https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51846578650_32207...

Pedro,
I love these comparison shots, big thank you for them.
I am a bit out of touch with the use of filters for lunar work.
Do you have a link on why people are using the different types of filter with
their scopes. Is it the scope or the camera driving the choice ?
Best wishes,
David

Alexandra, The dog gets me up most days around 5:30 am. It is dark and cold. Sadly I have created a rod for my own back, but he is such a love I can't be angry with him. Glad you shared these Brian. Excellent detail especially the Clavius region. Always wanted a C14 to play with, but sadly too big a beast for me. Seeing at my site just won't play with big scopes, I have a 12" classical cassegrain that has never seen more than two nights that do it justice. I ha...

Brian, Lovely account and super pictures.Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon. OK, I am about to admit defeat.
I have found that my 1.8x nose piece barlow "works" within my constraints but I am not impressed
by its results.
Can anyone recommend a screw-in barlow in the range 1.5x to 2x that is working well for you ?
Many thanks,
David
