Re: Any suggestion for a DIY Quark active cooler?

Hi I understand the etalon is in the red housing, the problem with cooling this housing is it is hard to cool it through 360 degrees because the electronic circuit is in the way. If you cool it from one side it is highly likely you will get uneven temperature inside and the etalon will be uneven wh...

Hi,

That is an excellent result for using 15 panels. The H-alpha also from my point of view is in Band. Maybe put a bit more attention in focusing ?

Re: Any suggestion for a DIY Quark active cooler?

Also, if simply blowing ambient air is not enough I think I'll put a tec behind the fan and blow some cooled air to the Quark. Figured it'll be easier than a water cooler with a lot of tubes and risk of leaking. Hi, That is not very effective. Better try to machine (hand filing ?) an Aluminum block...

Re: Remote control of solar imaging - from inside your house?

but luckily I don't seem to need enough of those adjustments very often, unless of course changing optics. Hi Terry, That is correct. I also do not need to readjust very often. The only adjusting I do is wait for warming up the telescope in H-alpha for getting in band. I white light the only thing ...

Nice Meteor Activity

Hi, Both stations here in my town are reporting nice meteor activity at 12:00 UTC e.g. 07:00 hours local time. The best thing of it is to see the very similar graphs of the stations. Every day he reports almost always half of the amount I report. The Zapata station in downtown is a bit handycapped c...

Re: Remote control of solar imaging - from inside your house?

Hi Magnus Of course it is possible to remote any imaging situation be it Solar imaging or DSO, but, yes big but ... The biggest problem in Solar imaging is tuning the etalons and if you have no remote control over this you will be running between the house and the setup When I open my roof and point...

Re: 2nd May Quiet Sun ScreenShots only

Hi, Very good. I looked at the screenshot and saw in your H-alpha screenshot with Firecapture that you are clipping the white side (right of the histogram). This is not a good idea. This means you have overexposed parts. You should always have very very short flat line after the curve. Similar to wh...

Thanks Rainer/Stu. Hi Jochen, Great. Are you going to upload your data in rmob.org ? Is there any other way to upload (be it through software o...

Do you have some images of it ? I would like to see that. Must be interesting.
