Re: Less diameter / diaphragm for more contrast? (Quark + APO)
Hi,
Stopping down will not bring you more contrast. Contrast in this case has something to do with the adjustment of the etalon eg. to be in band or not ...
IMHO
Stopping down will define if you under- or oversample as far as I have learned here.

Hi Magnus, Great image. I could not get the orientation exactly as in GONG today. Look at some full disc images in this forum and you will see that you need to rotate 180° and done. Look at Arne Danielsen's image of today. https://solarchatforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=37443 Having that, the next days y...

Why would the focal ratio change by cutting the tube ?(cheap! but I change the focal ratio slightly)?
The focal ratio is defined by focal length and aperture ...

WoW Rainer. That little detached prom off the NE limb looks really faint in your image. I am surprised I picked it up so easily in my SMII60 visually. First in DS and easier in SS. I picked it up casually. It was out of view in my GONG reference image. 🤔 Thanks for your verification 👍🏻 James Hi, Yo...

Re: Focusing with SharpCap
Anyone have any tips or tricks for achieving a really good focus with SharpCap? Focusing on the Sun is a question of observing the changes over the short time. I really never succeeded with any automatic focusing algorithm. Get a motorized focuser and observe the Sun, as Warren said, sometimes unde...

Thanks Rainer/Maurits. May I ask how hot was it ? Around 33-34 degrees (Celsius) here locally. Which is probably an average chilly day for you  Yes, for Belgium and Germany as well as other countries that is very warm. Totally over the normal. I only remember one Winter when I was a student we...
