Re: New Open Frame Refractor

Hi Martin, Looks great. First time I hear about " Magnetic Phone cooler " I do not think that vibrations should have a big influence in Solar imaging as turbulence of the atmosphere is much bigger and the imaging time is too short. Just a well educated guess from my side. What camera model...

Re: Design of SHG

Hi,

How much will you charge for the design ? I assume you are using the 28BYJ-48 stepper motor, right ?

Will you sell the optical kit or is it the kit from Shelyak ?

Re: Coronado SolarMax III RichView blocked

are you saying that your richview tuning ring is stuck and will not turn? I once had a richview tuner in my hands. If his golden front wheel does not turn I guess it is just because when they assembled it somebody rotated it to the end of the thread and then screwed in the blocking pin. So the solu...

Re: Coronado SolarMax III RichView blocked

Hi volod,

The part which should move is the golden ring at the front. Is that what does not move ? You should be able to rotate the golden front ring in and out ...

Please send a photo from the front.

If I remember well Eric Roel has also a 90mm ... perhaps he can chime in ¿?

Obsessive-compulsive attention to detail led to all sorts of weird spiders for Newtonian secondary mirrors. :? Perhaps we can start a small revolution in cooling fan motor support and protective grilling? Noise is one of the major issues with cooling fans in all fields of use. Air turbulence ...

Re: Idea of a Cooling Aid assistance for cameras

Hi Rainer, Apologies if I did not understand your device. Has it achieved 35 celsius or 35 Kelvin below the ambient air temperature? Is this the sensor temperature? How to use this when the ambient temp is 10 degrees, then your sensor will be minus 25 celsius. Will that cause cold damage and sensor...

Hi Alexandra, Yes, it is a composite/blended two separate images. The milky was is a stack of about 9 files to create increased signal/noise image. Re: Idea of a Cooling Aid assistance for cameras

I am always surprised at the crude "grill" the fan makers use to keep user's fingers out of the spinning blades. The flat metal bars must introduce lots of noise and turbulence. Turbulence could cause vibration. I know they want compactness and simplicity BUT... The airflow could be much ...

Hi, Sorry for the monologue  . Now I just turned around the 50mm fan in the single maniflod in order it sucks the air thorugh the sibs instead of blowing the onto the ribs and the efficiency is much better, Now the camera reaches with a sucking single 50mm fan the promised delta 35°C. Re: Idea of a Cooling Aid assistance for cameras

Hi, Here you can see how the fan is placed at the round opening of an ASI camera. Fan Rubber washer ( possibly for avoiding vibrations of the fan, which is a ridiculous solution as the fan is solidly ayyached to the camera by the screws. There is no way the fan is allowed to virate without affecting...

Re: Idea of a Cooling Aid assistance for cameras

Hi, One more alternative is exchanging the 40mm fan for a 50mm using a manifold like the one below. ¿ Effificiency ? a bit better then the original fan but not as good as the double sided blowing/sucking fan solution. I ahve been experimenting with my ASI 071MM Pro and with the double blowing/suckin...

they are listed.

Why not contact Robin and ask him what the problem could be ?

Hi P., It seems to me, looking at images on the web, that a double stack telescope gives a very "dark" image while a single stack is brighter and more natural (of course a bit less detailed). This is a wrong assumption as in imaging there are a lot of factors which make the images all look...

Re: Idea of a Cooling Aid assistance for cameras

Hi,

Next step is to test the camera without built in fan. It can be taken off as it does only have 2 wires for power.

I have an ASI 071MC Pro and there is where I will test it. I just need to make a cover for the existing fan hole.
