Hi, Today everything went well with the Saturn-M as if nothing happened yesterday... Who knows what Mr Murphy was doing at my observatory... White light disc was made with Gain 250 at a speed of ~22fps in Mono16 which really looks different as in Mono8. It is amazing how noise free this cameras are....

Lunt it is. Minimal effort to set up the spotting scope. Nice seeing conditions today. ~0C, with fresh heavy layer of snow covering the ground. Radiant heat was intense. No gloves or heavy outerwear needed. Fingers crossed for similar seeing conditions on the 8th. One issue are the tall red oaks th...

I agree, I tried to push the color to the limits to see if I could get more information about the mineralogic composition of the lunar soil. It seems all young craters with fresh ejecta have a cyan tone, I thus tried to saturate this color more, to see if I could individuate young formations among ...

Hi All, Well, the camera is running as if nothing would have happened yesterday. I guess it was the stupid Windows 10 again. I dedicated more then 1.5 hours yesterday trying to solve it until I closed the roof and let it run in the shadow. The USB 3.0 industrial hub from Tripplite has also a Sun sha...

Beautiful disk as always :) hope it was a minor bug with your cam. I would like to try the Saturn m - is the fps to low if you go with 3008*3008 ? Steen I get 42 fps at full frame. Hi Warren, How much gain? What f/X is your setup? Mono8 or Mono16? Yes, at MONO8 at 3008 x 3008 the camera makes 42.6f...

Hi, Finally a day I was able to open the roof of the observatory. The last 3 days we had sustained winds at 40-45km/h and gusts up to 60km/h. Thanks for the advice. I'll get rid of the flattener. I had it in there for some night imaging and it may not have been necessary in any case with this particular camera. Its a ZWO tilter and I'll measure it to verify. The optical train would then be Scope-Quark-ExtensionTube(s) -Tilter-Camera, Aga...

Hi, Looking at your setup Setup: Baader 160mm D-ERF -> Bresser AR152L/1200 -> Lunt LS60 Etalon -> BF10 -> 2x barlow (for all images except the last one) -> ZWO ASI 462MM IMHO it is a vignetting problem, but I can be wrong here, caused by the BF 10 + 2X barlow and probably a non centered hotspot. Hi, I would say your otpical train could look like this Telescope > Quark > Flattener 61A > extension tube xxmm > tilter > Camera May I ask what fort of Tilter you are referring to? The 61A tilter for a M48x0.75mm thread is 67.7mm from which you deduct the 6.5mm of the ASI 174 = 61.2mm ring between ...

Spot 3615 measures about 16 Earth diameters, roughly 196,500 km in length.

Judging the normal B&W images you are in band IMHO

They have a digital zoom for the sun, moon and planets, but not for deep sky since the zoom only works on the jpg saved to the phone. If you save raw files of a “zoomed” image on the Sun it is simply a crop at the same resolution as a full disk. I think they picked the FL to include room for many D...

Hi, Much much better. I have a question in regards to the SeeStar. The Owl nebula is a real tiny object in the sky. Does the SeeStar have somthing like a digital Zoom?
