Thanks Alexandra If the Seestar is not properly levelled it will fail. Mine finds the sun most of the times except if the sun is very low in the sky This time I have not travelled to see the eclipse. I usually use unity gain with CMOS cameras (it varies from camera to camera). The noise is lower if you use unity gain. This camera is fast and you get usually 128 frames per second easily (whole chip)

I have only observed with these tow telescopes. The Acuter scope performs well with the SM60/BF15 (good contrast)

these two scopes are not new. The Acuter 60mm F/12.5 is a great instrument. Optically it is very good and it also very cheap. The Meade 2045 is one of the first instrument I used with CCD cameras back in the 90's
