Re: PST MOD VS Quark 0.5A°, Allo Houston we have a problem!!

Hi, JP fabulous images as usual :) Eric, i have the same conclusion: - last year i made some full discs with my first SM90 + my PST mod in double stack (about 0.4 or 0.5 A) - this year i have 2 SM90 and the bandwith is not better than with the PST + SM90. But the image with both SM90 is beautiful on...

Re: Full disc halpha HD from May, 31

On Astrosurf forum we have actually the same discussion :) What i have understand: - without ITF, the SWIR (above 2µm) are passing, and this is dangerous for our eyes (and perhaps for the lifetime of the blocking filter) - Without ITF, i gain a 2x factor in imaging with double stack (4ms exposure wi...

Re: Full disc halpha HD from May, 31

Thank you all. Walter, no need of the ITF for imaging. I replace it by the Baader IR/UV-cut. Re: Full disc HD from 13 march + wallpapers!

Thank you all :bow2 Yes Peter, your choice couldn't be wrong with a Grasshopper3. Just be sure your laptop can accept it. Pedro, no it's not the same as the zeiss Abbe, this Barlow is in fact a glasspath 2x apo mounted into a 1,25" adaptor. And the Zeiss Abbe is more expensive. This apo 2x has many ...

Re: Should I or should I not go for PG Grasshopper 3 camera

Hi, i have the Grasshopper 3 with ICX674 model, i must admit that these Grasshopper3 are very suited for sun imaging. Very good dynamic, very low noise, 26 fps in 16 bits mode at full size 1920x1440 (and about 60fps in ROI crop mode), and big sensors. You can see many images on my website (link on s...

Thank you all, happy to come back with you :) You missed me! Alex, yes competition is back ! But actually i have some problems to adjust correctly the two SM90 together. Constrast on filaments is not as good as expected. My new garden is far better exposed, i can image Sun from East to west, and the...

Re: Tests of my new SM90 double stack

Thank you Alex, and thank you all for Chipie. At least I have one more cat, Missty, beautiful female of 3 years old. She's my photographic muse!! I always use Autostakkert 2 because i have some bad residus of staking with Registax, that are well visible on edge. In autostakkert i use: AP = 50 Min br...

Re: PST Mods - getting sufficient in-focus

Sorry for the late answer.

I have this adapter 2" to T2, and the M48 thread is in front, not in back. In the back you can insert the Glasspath, but it will not work with your PST adapter.

Can you show me some photos of your adapters?

Thank you all. Chipie was always at my side when I observed or imaged the Sun... Life continues... Lou, Pawel is Pablito here in Solarchat. You can see his adaptor (grey aluminium) between the two SM90 on my image. This adaptor is very useful because it's rotating. Pawel could tell you more about it...

And a bad news: my 15 years old cat is dead yesterday after 2 monthes of fighting against cancer :( :( In memory of Chipie: So last week I received my second SM90 vintage (thanks to Pawel for the good deal).
