Re: Smooth focus !!!

Hi Pedro thanks for the pics. I cannot put anything below the focuser ( see your last pic) as there is no room due to the longer vixen bar, a longer bar helps achieve balance. It looks like either a JMI or an Orion. The problem is I am not dexterous, I struggle making a mess, so the unit has to fit ...

Re: Smooth focus !!!

Thanks for that MapleRidge it looks as if that is the one, the details at the end of the page says it is for, as well as other scopes, for an Es ed80. Would it fit on the right hand ( my pic above) side of my scope where the fine focuser is?

Has anyone fitted one to an Explore Scientific and if so which one? The latest reply was from Altair Astro and they suggested a Pegasus...

Focus without the wobbles

Hi here I am again. I hope you can help me as always, I am thinking of getting an auto focuser, the type powered by a small battery. When I adjust the focus the scope dances around and takes a moment to settle down, although not a major problem I can overcome this issue by fitting an auto focuser, b...

Re: October 30th in Ha

Not much chance of Imaging here in Leicester UK, although the sky has been clearish, just like today ( Friday 2 nd Nov) it is quite milky. So the best I can manage when I get the chance is similar to the 5th and 6th pics, can you get much detail from those? Anyway a great set, as always, thanks for ...

Re: Point grey imx 174 help help please

Thanks Alexandra I tried as you suggested and it fit. I also contacted Ana at FLIR who sent me a manual and that cleared things up. The reason, I believe, that you would use the gpio cable is if the camera keeps falling off, stops working or staggers, if you get my drift. I will try things out at th...

Re: Spacers.

Hi Marty thanks for the reply. I have managed to get two more Es spacers and putting all four together will give me 162mm as well as those I have a Revolution adapter that I use when putting my Canon camera onto The Es, that will give me about 35-40 mm that I can add if needed but at the moment the ...

Hello all, another blue sky today (Monday 22nd Oct 2018) but the seeing was not good. Anyway I usually have my diagonal on (fitted with a Baader cut filter 2”) and everything is OK, but after watching some videos I decided to try Imaging without the diagonal, in a straight through type set up, just ...

Re: Maybe the wrong place

Mark I think I will buy the battery you suggest but I would like to know if I need any other cables than those that come with the battery. My scopes that I will power are an eq3-2 and an AVX as well as my Quark. Can you advise me please?

Hi all, I’m not sure this is the right place, please forgive me. My poor old legs just will not stand lifting and carrying the battery I have which is an 84ah leisure deep recycle type, what I am looking for is maybe a lithium battery (much lighter) but which one? I need to connect my Quark, so it m...

Re: Update on laptop and camera

Hi folks, after a bit of confusion regarding which link on the ptgrey download page and after contacting them I was able to identify the correct drivers, I have just tried my camera by pointing it at a distant object and there it was on my laptop screen, just got to try it on some Stars and the Sun.

Re: New camera but which one?

Hi all, it seems common sense has to reign, I recently bought a new 8gb laptop but sadly no usb3, oh well. I will have to save up a bit longer to buy another laptop and a new camera, but in the meantime try to get better with what I already have, but be warned sometime in the future I will splash ou...
