Re: ASI 174MM and Firecapture - endless issues - looking for alternatives!

Hi, yes there is a small shoulder on the camera but when I try to fit it the brass ring within the clamp does not hold the camera. I really don’t know how to get the sensors close enough to get focus. Is there an adapter that would fit directly onto the blocking filter that would allow me to attach ...

Re: ASI 174MM and Firecapture - endless issues - looking for alternatives!

Hi, again, I have the shorter t2 clamp and that is the one I was using. I am contemplating purchasing a Daystar solar scout 60ss and hopefully the Grasshopper will work with that, if not I will try my zwo 120 mm and see if that works. I will keep you posted.

Re: ASI 174MM and Firecapture - endless issues - looking for alternatives!

Hi, don’t know where else to post this, may be someone can redirect me if necessary. Any way I have two issues, my scope is Lunt 50 ha and I have the latest version of Java and FireCapture. Re: Solar scope.

Thanks Mark I have a Lunt 50 but although I can image through it I read that it is more for viewing than imaging, that is why I considered getting the Solar Scout, it is slightly bigger aperture as well. I have a Quark that I put on my Explore Scientific ed80apo but as I want to downsize my kit the ...

Re: Solar software.

Thanks for all your replies. I have been trying to download FireCapture for weeks and for some reason I cannot, even tried to disable my firewall, all I get is a page of files but there is not a FireCapture.exe. I have most of the suggested software except IMPPG, I will look into that. Why is there ...

Hi, this may seem inappropriate but I have been watching the Marty Wise video that lasts for just over 18 mins and I must say I think it is brilliant. The previous one that lasted just over 51 mins helped me a lot but this one goes even further. I do notice how Marty is using different software from...

Thanks Montana, I have some solar film and will try as you say, have you any pics yet as I learn a lot more from seeing something rather than, with my limited imagination, trying to visualise.

Mad ramblings.

Hi all, today (Thursday 27June) has been the first clear day for ages, very few clouds and a blue sky. Well I thought I would dust off my EX ed80apo, and put on my Altair Astro camera. I played around with various spacers to no spacers but could not get anything so I swapped the camera to an ASI120 ...
