Good looking images, David. Thanks for putting them up.

It’s been rather slow here and my scopes sure miss the sunshine, as do I.

Wow, what a wonderful set of images! Your Solarscope images never seem to disappoint and the inverted ones are particularly striking.
Very nice, Alexandra.

A fine set of hi-res captures, Peter. Inverted images do bring out details overlooked. Nicely done.

Re: Geraniums

Thanks for the comment and link, Peter. I remember that video from long ago. Very cool back then.
So far I focus by hand, anywhere from 5 to 50 in a stack depending on depth. Helicon software has worked well for me.

Re: Geraniums

Alexandra, the microscope used for these photos is referred to as a zoom stereo microscope of the Greenough type. This type may not be the best for high quality imaging but it came with a c-mount and my Grasshopper cameras attached easily. Great 3D views through the eyepiece. Phil 270A0776-3B0B-4DEC...

Re: Geraniums

Thanks for the kind comments and help identifying the parts. These were my first photos taken with a microscope and the journey into the geranium was fascinating. The colors were an unexpected treat. Geraniums

Hi, My wife grows geraniums in planters around the yard. I wait for the rain and clouds to clear so to image the Sun. That wasn’t going to happen any time soon so I turned the scope toward the flowers. The rain, wind, and lack of sunlight resulted in a rather dismal image. I retrieved a flower blown...

Re: Sea of Showers in color

Thanks for the comments. I have grown to like a more colorful moon. It does add a new perspective, as Brian said, and brings out subtle variations that may be overlooked in a grayscale image. It is kind of fun to see what happens as colors emerge and I recommend giving it a try. If not for Stu’s ima...

Sea of Showers in color

Hi All, After discovering the subtle colors the moon offers first hand last month, I had some clear skies to try imaging the Moon again. This time the six inch Mak was used. A Point Grey Grasshopper color and monochrome camera, both 2.8Mp, captured the images. The delicate balancing of colors still ...

Hi All, It took a big prom to get me out into the sunshine. A nice day to image with the LS80 scope. After taking a month off from imaging I felt a little rusty but here's what I got.
