Re: Lunt 60 Pressure tuning question(s)

I’m having a similar problem with my brand new Lunt 60 pt. I’m in contact with Faye trying to work it out. I checked the blocking filter and it looks fine to me. Unscrewed the pt but still no details when I pressurized it again. I’ll keep you posted if we figure it out.

Really nice details especially on the limb capture!

Is that a LS 50 or 60 etalon you’re using with your mod?

That was way cool! Hope your weather holds out.

As far as fish eye lens go, how would an all sky camera, like the one that comes with the ASI 178, work in capturing more of the action?

Re: Double stack with a Quark

I finally got the Lunt 60 pressure tuned 1200 today. As a follow up, which blocking filter has better transmission? Will I also need an IRUV cut before the Quark? Also picked up a US made pst and AOK Swiss adapters. I’m thinking of using it for double stacking the Lunt with this also. Does anyone ha...

Re: Time for selling...

I would say sell your solar gear while there is time. The average magnetic field strength in sunspot umbras has been steadily declining for more than a decade (don't know about the last years, though) NN_Sep11_Sungraph_400px.jpg Where the field is less than 1,500 gauss, spots do not appear at all. ...

Thanks for all the advice and positive comments! Thanks Alexandra for the extremely kind words. I'm my worst critic. I reprocessed the following without USM only LR. Are they an improvement? Thanks. Re: Some Images in Ha with Quark Chrosphere Oct. 12, 2019

What is your Quark dial set at? Idike to s3e more contrast on the surface portions and that is where my questions are driving. Also, which capture software are you using and are you using any kind of secondary filter like a polarizer or a UVIR Cut? Cheers, Jack I have my Quark set to a far counterc...

Re: Some Images in Ha with Quark Chrosphere Oct. 12, 2019

I like them all. What is your processing workflow? Do you use IMPPG? That is key for me to really adjust some curves, contrast and LR Deconvolution. Thanks for the comments all help is appreciated! I start by stacking in AS3! The above were 50 frames out of 500. Then start processing in ImPPG. I tr...

Some Images in Ha with Quark Chrosphere Oct. 12, 2019

I had a chance to do some imaging from my balcony, between the clouds on Saturday. Equipment used ES 102 ED with Quark chromosphere and ASI 174MM. Seeing was not great around 3 arcseconds. Thanks for looking! My processing skills are very rough. Any suggestions, comments, tutorials welcomed! Sun_162...
