In simple terms, at Ha wavelengths those 9um pixels need f40. This is regardless of aperture. If you are at 100mm in Ha, your local seeing needs to be floating just below 1.5" to be capitalising with lucky imaging. So is there a method or way of measuring this... Or care to recommend a pixel s...

I've always felt on a planetary imaging aspect you need to be bordering the over sampling line.. lucking imaging and deepsky imaging are totally different

To my mind we're not doing long exposures we're doing lucky imaging, ie, very short exposures to beat the seeing.. sampling is based on pixel size and focal length... we're also capturing something very bright , and don't really get why people buy 60mm scopes and reduce them to 40 or so... probably ...

You could factor in the sensor size , imaging circle ,local seeing.. lots of things need to all come together to make it optimal..to my mind the sampling relationship ( FL and pixel size ) is like the relationship between FL and aperture to give the f ratio

Presume as the PST as it was originally mate for visual so the etalon would be smaller
