Thanks Brian and Warren. While I do intend to image more I don’t see it rivaling visual observing. There’s something special about seeing it with the ol’ eyeballs and I am so much better at visual than I am at imaging. Still, there is a place for both in my observing program.

July 5 2021 Observations
Session time is from 13:40 until 14:30 UTC. The skies are mostly clear but the seeing is below average. The temperature is 83F. I observed from my dad's just outside of Lowndesville S.C. Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x, 25x and 33x. ( Ha ) I can clearly see nine active regions on the Ha solar disc. ...

Very nice work as usual for you, Simon. I did catch the filaprom today visually in my SMII60.

Re: July 4 2022 Imaging. Aphelion Prominence.
It was a difficult session. I had almost no time to adjust anything in ASTRO IIDC due to very brief gaps in the cloud cover. The pics also ended up too noisy. Gain too high I guess. Thunderstorms ⛈ moved in a little while later.

Re: Happy 4th of July - I got fireworks for everyone!
I had poor seeing too but also mostly cloudy skies. I got a couple of quick noisy captures between clouds with what few gaps I had. I quickly gave up. Later in the day got worse with numerous thunderstorms. Yours looks great. I never got disk details to reveal that the SE prom was indeed a filaprom....

July 4 2022 Imaging. Aphelion Prominence.
Session time is between 16:30-17:00 UTC. Mostly cloudy with poor seeing. I only got a couple of quick captures between clouds. Both are similar limb shots. Lots of waiting! The temperature is 88F ( 31.1C ). The scope used is the SMII60 with the PGR Grasshopper camera from my dad's place outside of L...

I don’t remember noticing any surge proms there at the time I observed. There must have been a flare.

These are really nice flare captures and nice animations of it. It looks like a C class. You seem to be the only SolarChat member who caught it.
Congrats
