May 13 2021 Observations.

Session time is 10:30am until 1:05pm EDT local time ( US ). Partly cloudy. The seeing is intermittent. Rough at times then clearing like fine glass! The temperature is 57F at sessions end. Coronado SolarMax II 90 DS. 32x, 44.5x and 88.9x ( Ha ) I can see 4 disturbed regions on the disc. The largest ...

These are absolutely incredible. I love high resolution granulation images. The granules test the scope and other equipment, an observers visual and imaging skills including processing and of course test the seeing conditions. When all are right it has a big WoW factor. I caught this flare visually Sunday using my SMII60. I did not get a view like this though. That's an awesome animation at a considerable magnification.

I caught this flare visually Sunday using my SMII60. I did not get a view like this though. That's an awesome animation at a considerable magnification.

Good result in the circumstances, Quarks aren't designed for this, you're also off band (in the red). Try stopping the 107 down. Yeah, the Quark going off band due to the extreme ambient heat that day (about 40 degree celsius). Could you please share how did you know that? I wondered that too. Mark...
